After multiple successful positions leading baggage handling, operations and management for some of the world’s largest airlines, industry veteran Dirk-Jan “DJ” Kanters has joined BagsID Network as Vice President of Business Development and Global Head of Airlines.
By making its facilities available, Eindhoven Airport will allow Vanderlande to apply cutting-edge technologies and run tests in a live environment, so that it can innovate, optimise and simplify a number of airport processes.

According to BagsID, Eindhoven Airport is the first airport in the world to test this technology. It is expected that the use of this new technology will be more accurate, environmentally friendly and cheaper than checking in hold baggage via scanning baggage tags.
This online event brought together over 1,400 attendees including 176 airports, over 100 speakers, 32 sponsors and exhibitors, as we examined how airports and the aviation sector are managing their operations as they enter the restart and recovery phase post COVID-19.
“I’ve focused my career on providing excellent baggage handling services to hundreds of thousands of passengers, across cultures, for recognizable airlines who demand nothing but the best,” explained DJ Kanters. “So, it was a natural progression to bring this experience to a company like BagsID…”
Eindhoven Airport, Vanderlande and baggage identification specialist BagsID will apply computer learning and image recognition technology. This will allow passengers to check in an item of luggage simply by having camera equipment take a photograph of it.
